Introduction
Sheena Dhanani, Community and Club Manager at Auriens Chelsea, is the driving force behind the eclectic social calendar that enriches life for residents, their families, and the wider Friends of Auriens community. We sat down with Sheena to discuss her role and a few of the exciting events on the horizon.

Q: Hi Sheena, can you tell us about your role at Auriens Chelsea?
A: My role is all about creating memorable experiences that bring people together. I work closely with teams across the business but more specifically with our kitchen and food and beverage teams to ensure every event is seamless, from ideation to execution. Auriens is so much more than just a place to live - it’s a thriving social hub, and I’m proud to play a part in fostering those connections.

What makes my role exciting is the diversity of events I curate to reflect the broad range of passions and interests within our community. Whether it’s hosting a private dinner with a cricketing legend, organising our alfresco dining season, or coordinating a resident’s milestone birthday party, every event is unique and personal.

We also love bringing in inspiring voices and perspectives. Our Tea & Talk series with authors and thought leaders has been a huge hit, offering residents and friends something truly enriching.

Q: What are some of the upcoming events we can look forward to?
A: The Sarah Chapman skincare masterclass is perfect for those who enjoy self-care. The Donaghue Quartet will fill the halls with the magic of Christmas carols, and Joan Furio Vivas from Guildhall will delight us with his solo guitar recital. But that’s just the start - we have so much more planned for the new year!

Q: The Friends of Auriens has been growing steadily. What do you think has contributed to its success?
A: The sense of community is at the heart of its success. Friends of Auriens offers something special: the chance to engage with Auriens life, whether it’s through our new monthly jazz night, wellness clinics or classical recitals. It’s been wonderful to see how this programme has brought people together and expanded what Auriens offers beyond its walls.

Q: Looking back, what has been your favourite event at Auriens so far?
A: Without a doubt, the launch of the third season of our podcast. It was incredible to host book signings by Michael Palin, Robin Hanbury-Tenison, and the Duke of Beaufort. The energy in the room was extraordinary, and seeing residents, friends, and guests come together made it truly unforgettable.

Q: What excites you most about the future at Auriens?
A: The possibilities. We have a thriving, close-knit community, and as our events evolve, I’m excited to see even more people connect and enjoy everything Auriens has to offer. With the new year just around the corner, I can promise there’s plenty to look forward to.

Q: So tell us, what is there to look forward to next year?
A: 2025 is already shaping up to be spectacular. Our Tea and Talk events continue, starting with Oliver Messel & Mystique, which will explore his fascinating legacy, followed by an inspiring talk from expeditionist Pom Oliver. We are also hosting a session with the multi-award winning travel company, Red Savannah, who will offer insights into unique travel opportunities. For those who enjoy games of skill and strategy, we’ll have a dedicated bridge event and games night.

Q: Finally, what does community mean to you?
A: For me, community is about belonging. It’s the feeling of being welcomed, cared for, and celebrated.
