In conversation with... Henry Lumby, our newest member of the team
Q: Welcome, Henry! Could you share a bit about your background?
Thank you for the warm welcome, it’s amazing to be part of the team at Auriens Chelsea. I was previously Head of Retirement Living at Savills and have worked across the later living sector for over 20 years. During that time, I’ve been fortunate to work on some interesting projects across the UK, as well as being able to go and study more mature markets such as the US and Australia.
Q. What do you enjoy most about your role?
Meeting the incredible residents has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. I feel deeply grateful for the chance to connect with them and their families, learning from their life experiences and sharing precious moments with them. Equally, I've had the privilege of collaborating with outstanding colleagues who share the same passion for providing exceptional service to our residents. The dynamic combination of our residents and dedicated team members makes Auriens Chelsea such an extraordinary and inspiring place to work.
Q. What drew you to Auriens Chelsea?
Many years ago, I was an advisor to Auriens during its conceptual stage, and when I visited the community last year and saw it come to life, I was genuinely blown away by the quality of amenities and apartments. However, what truly captivated me was meeting the team here, and witnessing their unwavering passion for what they do. Beyond that, connecting with our residents and hearing about their remarkable journeys to Auriens cemented my decision to become a part of this amazing team.

Q: What message would you like to share with the Auriens Chelsea community and those considering it as their future home?
We understand that the prospect of moving can seem overwhelming. But fear not, we are here to support you every step of the way. Our goal is to flatten any mountains that may stand in your path, providing you with the advice, guidance, and support you need. Our Resident Advisory team take the time to help you consider all your options, ensuring that the decision you make is the most suitable one for you. But our residents are our most enthusiastic advocates, and we'd be absolutely thrilled to introduce you to them at one of our events, so you can chat with them about life at Auriens first-hand.
Q: Where will we find you after all the hard work?
After a fulfilling day of work, you'll often find me cherishing moments with my family in Hampshire. I'm a proud father to my wonderful twelve-year-old daughter, Ella, who's passionate about ballet and netball. Or I might be embracing the cliché of a 40+-year-old by cycling through the picturesque landscapes of the New Forest and Test Valley, training for the first Auriens charity cycle ride. We're riding 130 miles to raise money for the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, a cause that's very close to our hearts.
