Their goal is to take care of the details, so residents can focus on what matters most - whether that’s unwinding at home, hosting friends, or spending time away - knowing everything will be just as they left it upon their return.
Q: Hi Nuno, can you share a bit about your background?
Nuno: It's a bit of a mix - I've been in engineering since 2004, working across IT and building engineering. Before Auriens, I was a Senior Engineer at Beaverbrook in Leatherhead. I joined in 2022 and have been using my experience to make sure everything here runs smoothly and effortlessly for our residents. It’s been a great journey so far.
Q: What does the engineering team handle at Auriens Chelsea?
Nuno: We look after the entire building, from communal spaces and gardens to all the key systems like heating, cooling, and water supply. We also manage landlord maintenance within apartments, keeping everything in top condition.
Beyond that, I can help arrange anything residents need on a more personal level - our handyman services are completely bespoke. Whether it’s hanging a painting, assembling furniture, or adjusting a shelf, we tailor everything to the individual. Some people just need the odd job done, while others like regular support.
Q: What happens behind the scenes in the building?
Nuno: A lot! We’re constantly making sure everything works perfectly, even though most of it goes unnoticed. The energy centre, chiller plant room, and pool plant in the basement all work together to keep the building comfortable year-round.
We also take care of building compliance - fire safety, water quality, health & safety - all of that is managed quietly in the background. On top of that, we make sure communal areas, gardens, lifts, lighting, and even the swimming pool are in top condition. The idea is that residents don’t have to think about any of it. Everything just works.
Q: What kind of handyman services are available?
Nuno: Pretty much anything! It could be something small, like changing a lightbulb or fixing a loose hinge, or a bigger task like rearranging furniture or setting up a TV. There’s no ‘standard’ service - it’s all made to measure. And if something needs a specialist, we’ll arrange that too, so there’s no stress or hassle. It’s really just about making life easier, whatever that means for each resident.
Q: What does landlord maintenance involve?
Nuno: That covers everything that keeps an apartment running smoothly - annual servicing of heating, underfloor heating, water systems, leak detectors, and fresh air intake, plus window and door maintenance. We also check water temperature control and lighting on a regular basis.
We always coordinate with residents so there are no surprises. Nothing happens without their approval, and we work around their schedule. It’s all about keeping their home in perfect shape without them having to think about it.
Q: How can residents request maintenance or handyman services?
Nuno: It’s really easy - just speak to the resident liaison or the concierge team. Whether it’s a quick fix or a list of things to get done, we’re happy to help in whatever way works best for them.
